The European Janggi Federation (EJF) in cooperation with the local host, the
German Janggi Federation (GJF) as well as “Johannes-Brahms-Konservatorium” is happy to announce the organization of a the

1st European Janggi Championship on

26th & 27th of October 2019 in Hamburg.

Our efforts in promoting the game especially in Europe forced us to do the next step: organizing a European Championship in Janggi – also known as “Korean Chess” – a game with a long history and highly respected in Korea.

We are especially proud of the fact, that many local players from Germany as well as the strongest players from Europe – coming from Poland, Russia, France, Austria, Turkey, Netherlands and Ukraines – have already committed themselves to participate; securing the highest level of play in Europe; fighting for the title as European Champion.

Besides the main tournament, we also organize the European Blitz Championship with the extra option to gain the title as European Blitz-Champion 2019.

Some minor groups of children already play seriously Janggi in different parts of Europe. The European Janggi Federation reflects on this development by organizing the 1st European Youth Championship 2019 for participants below 18 years of age.

All tournaments are played in an Open format, which entitles all interested players living in Europe to participate.

We will play according to the International Janggi Tournament Rules, which are currently in use by the Korean Janggi Federation (Southkorea).

Saturday, the 26th of October 2019
Registration:
11.30 a.m. – 12.00 p.m.
Everyone will have to sign in personally on site no later than 12:00 p.m.

Format:
Open main tournament – 9 rounds “Round Robin” system

Playing time:
15 minuten maintime + 3 x 40 seconds byoyomi

After reaching 1 hour of overall playing time, the games will be finished by the referee; counting the remaining material. Red must do the last move.

Entry fee:

Everyone may pay the fee during the personal registration process in cash.
We have to cover all cost for this tournament completely from all entry fees collected; without any further sponsor. All entry fees have to cover the cost for the youth players also. No money prizes will be awarded to keep it in a true amateur manner.

Adults: 10.- Euro; reductions possible
Youth under 18 of age: no fee
Players arriving from a foreign country: no fee

We are especially proud of the fact, that many local players from Germany as well as the strongest players from Europe – coming from Poland, Russia, France, Austria, Turkey, Netherlands and Ukraine – have already committed themselves to participate in this special side tournament ; securing the highest level of play in Europe; fighting for the title as European Janggi Blitz Champion 2019.

Die „Spielgemeinschaft Hamburg von 1989“ ist sehr erfreut, ein erstes Turnier im Janggi (Koreanisches Schach) auszurichten.


Dieses Turnier soll der vorläufigen Höhepunkt der vorausgegangenen Aktivitäten der „Spielgemeinschaft Brettspiel Hamburg von 1989“ sein.
Seit einigen Monaten widmet sich die Spielgemeinschaft dem koreanischen Schach Janggi, welches in Korea eine lange Spieltradition als lokales Schachspiel aufweist. Besonders stolz sind wir auf die bereits erhaltenen Zusagen von Teilnehmern aus Russland und Polen, welches uns veranlasste, das Turnier offen für alle Interessenten als OPEN zu veranstalten.

Offenes Haupt-Turnier: 5 Runden im Schweizer System
Jugendturnier nach Bedarf (U18); ebenfalls über 5 Runden

30 Minuten + 30 Sekunden Byoyomi für alle Turnierformen

Anmeldung:
Die persönliche Registrierung vor Ort kann für Teilnehmer bis unmittelbar vor Turnierbeginn um 10:00 Uhr erfolgen, sofern sich diese bis zum Freitag, den 13. Oktober 2017 vorangemeldet haben. Dies könnte Anreisewege auch von größeren Distanzen ermöglichen.
Es gibt bereits eine ausreichende Anzahl an vorangemeldeten Teilnehmern.

Startgeld:
Dies ist ein reines Amateurturnier, deren Ausgaben ohne weitere Geldgeber aus den Startgeldern bestritten werden müssen.
Die erwachsenen Teilnehmer finanzieren mit ihrem Beitrag die Ausgaben für den Jugendbereich mit.

Erwachsene: 10.- Euro ; Reduzierungen möglich
Kinder- und Jugendliche unter 18 Jahre: kein Startgeld
Teilnehmer aus dem Ausland: kein Startgeld

Schiedsgericht:
Dieses Turnier wird ausgewertet anhand der bereits bestehenden Rangliste für europäische Spieler. Es werden die derzeit gültigen Regeln der Korea Janggi Association angewandt, nach denen es in einer Partie immer eine siegreiche Partei gibt.

Hauptschiedsrichter ist Uwe Frischmuth, der im Vorfeld des Turniers die wichtigsten Regeln im Turnier-Janggi erklären wird.

Spielmaterial:
Die Turnierleitung stellt ausreichend Spielmaterial zur Verfügung. Es ist aber für alle Beteiligten von Vorteil, eigenes Spielmaterial mitzubringen, um Überraschungen durch eventuell erhöhte Teilnehmerzahlen zu vermeiden.

Weitere Preise, insbesondere für die Jugendsektionen U14 und U18, sind möglich

Spielort:

Dieses Turnier wird in Kooperation mit unserem Partner veranstaltet, demJohannes-Brahms-Konservatoriumwelches unter anderem eigene Räumlichkeiten zur Verfügung stellt.

In den Wochen vor dem eigentlichen Turnier wird es an gleicher Stelle noch Gelegenheit geben, an Workshops zum koreanischen Schach seine Kenntnisse in diesem traditionsreichen Spiel zu vertiefen.
